Notes: Routine inspection. Facility is between CPOs and having pool tech run the pool in the interim. Free chlorine and ORP out of range. Pool is closed. Please email a letter of correction stating how the violations listed below have been and/or will be corrected to Todd.Jewell@linncountyiowa.gov within 30 days of this inspection.

  Item: The disinfectant and pH in the pool water shall be manually tested and documented each day within one-half hour of the pool opening and at least one other time throughout the day. Chlorine shall be between 1.0 & 8.0 and pH shall be between 7.0 & 7.8. If either of these levels are out of range, the pool shall be closed.
  Comment: Record daily water testing in operations log. At least 2 manual tests per day and other tests not to exceed 4 hrs the pool is open. Free chlorine measured at 0.4.

  Item: "No Lifeguard" signage/incorrectly posted. Where lifeguards are not provided whenever the pool is open, a sign shall be posted at each entry to a swimming pool or a wading pool.
  Comment: Please place an additional no lifeguard on duty sign at each entrance of the pool.

  Item: A swimming pool facility shall have a first-aid kit. Where lifeguards are not provided, the first-aid kit shall be prominently mounted in the swimming pool enclosure, or a sign stating its location shall be posted near the swimming pool.
  Comment: Please provide a first aid kit for the pool.

These items must be corrected as soon as possible in order to comply with the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pool and Spa Rules. A letter regarding the actions which will be taken in order to correct all deficiencies must be submitted within 30 days to this office. If for any reason you take issue with any of the items cited regarding swimming pool rules, a variance can be requested by following the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pools manual, amended July 8th, 2009, page 57, section 641-15.7 (135I). Variance requests regarding spa rules must be made in compliance with the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Spa manual, revised July 8th, 2009, page 32, section 641-15.7 (135I).
