Please email a letter of correction stating how the violations listed below have been and/or will be corrected to diane.midcalf@linncountyiowa.gov within 30 days of this inspection.

# Section Reference Ref. Page
1) Management/Personnel Pool: 15.4(6)m 25
Item: A lifeguard staffing plan shall be available
Comment: For the size of the pool I recommend that there is a lifeguard in each chair and one in the zero depth area at all times there are individuals in those areas. But, because this is a country club, it is exempt of the rule that lifeguards are required. If you ever decide to not staff the pool with lifeguards (not recommended), be sure to post signs at the gate and throughout the facility stating 'NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY'. Without these signs posted, it is presumed you have lifeguards.

2) Water Quality Pool: 15.4(2)a(1) 9
Item: Pool water shall have a free chlorine residual of at least 1.0 ppm and no greater than 8.0 ppm, or a total bromine residual of at least 2.0 ppm and no greater than 18.0 ppm when pool is in use
Comment: Chlorine is extremely low today. Poollog shows many incidents that the chlorine level was too low to be open, but pool was not closed. Staff needs retrained as to what the appropriate chemical levels are and to call the CPO when they are out of range and close the pool.

3) Decks Pool: 15.5(4)a 29
Item: A swimming pool shall be surrounded by a deck. The deck shall be at least 6 ft. wide for a Class A swimming pool, and 4 ft. wide for a Class B swimming pool, and shall extend at least 4 ft. beyond the diving stands, lifeguard chairs, swimming pool slides, or any other deck equipment.
Comment: Please make sure that there is a clear, walkable path on the outside of the entire pool area. Chairs should be pushed back to ensure a safe walkway.

4) Safety Pool: 15.4(4)h 18 and 19
Item: All drains shall be VGB compliant and within their life expectancy date
Comment: VGB in shallow water is in good repair, removed every winter and reinstalled each spring, but expired 5/2022. Facility will order a new one and replace by spring 2023.

5) Structure/Diving Pool: 15.4(4)c(10) 14
Item: Supports, platforms, and steps for diving boards shall be of substantial construction and of sufficient structural strength to safely carry the maximum anticipated load.
Comment: Diving board is not secure, please fix.
