  Comment: Must have sign at all entrances stating Iowa Smoke Free Air Act information. Provided with sticker.
   
2) Safety Pool: 15.4(4)l(1) 19
  Item: A swimming pool shall be enclosed by a fence, wall, building, or combination thereof not less than 4 ft. high.
  Comment: Area of fence near pump room is bent back with a considerable gap in the fencing. Repair so fence is at least 4 ft high.
   
3) Safety Pool: 15.4(4)b(2) 13
  Item: Pool ladders, ramps, handrails, and grab rails shall be securely anchored.
  Comment: Both ladders in deep end are loose. Tighten/fasten so ladders are securely anchored.
   
4) Safety Spa: 15.51(4)b(4) 13
  Item: Ladders and handrails shall be constructed of corrosion-resistant materials or provided with corrosion-resistant coatings. They shall have no exposed sharp edges.
  Comment: Missing escutchen plates on both ladders and handrail at stairs. Provide so no sharp edges are present.

  Comment: 1) Large chunk missing from edge of pool shell in deep end. Repair so area is smooth. 2) Lip around outer edge of pool shell has 1-2 inch separation from surrounding deck. Level off or ramp so tripping hazard is no longer present.

These items must be corrected as soon as possible in order to comply with the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pool and Spa Rules. A letter regarding the actions which will be taken in order to correct all deficiencies must be submitted within 30 days to this office. If for any reason you take issue with any of the items cited regarding swimming pool rules, a variance can be requested by following the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pools manual, amended July 8th, 2009, page 57, section 641-15.7 (135I). Variance requests regarding spa rules must be made in compliance with the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Spa manual, revised July 8th, 2009, page 32, section 641-15.7 (135I).
