Notes: Doing a good job keeping pool maintained and records up to date. Keep up the good work. Facility still has wading pool drain blocked (cement). State has not followed up on the variance request that was submitted 7/12/13. Pool Inspector sent follow up to State 8/5/14, but they have not responded. Cover for main pool is good until 2019.

  Item: Records shall include results of chemical tests, results of microbial analyses, reports of complaints/injuries/illnesses, daily water temp. (spa), dates of draining/cleaning, and dates of review of MSDS
  Comment: Could not find monthly microbial test results in log book for each body of water. Missing both for May, June & July are missing the wading pool test. Must submit a test for each body of water each month that the pools are in operation.

  Item: Pool water shall have a free chlorine residual of at least 1.0 ppm and no greater than 8.0 ppm, or a total bromine residual of at least 2.0 ppm and no greater than 18.0 ppm when pool is in use
  Comment: Several records in June 2014 had ORP readings below minimum required operating level without closure. Must be aware of closure levels for chemical tests and act accordingly.

  Item: Pool and Spa decks shall be maintained slip-resistant, and free of litter, obstructions and tripping hazards.
  Comment: Wading pool deck is in poor condition (by chemical shed and skimmer) and the pool deck has some areas that have become uneven (West end and area by red metal cover). Deck must be maintained and kept free of tripping hazards.

  Item: The lower end of each ladder rail shall be securely covered with a smooth nonmetallic cap.
  Comment: NW ladder is missing the end cap. Must replace end cap to prevent injury.

These items must be corrected as soon as possible in order to comply with the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pool and Spa Rules. A letter regarding the actions which will be taken in order to correct all deficiencies must be submitted within 30 days to this office. If for any reason you take issue with any of the items cited regarding swimming pool rules, a variance can be requested by following the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pools manual, amended July 8th, 2009, page 57, section 641-15.7 (135I). Variance requests regarding spa rules must be made in compliance with the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Spa manual, revised July 8th, 2009, page 32, section 641-15.7 (135I).
