Notes: Facility shall change chemical test times to 5:30am, 9:30am, 1:30pm and 5:30pm daily when pool is in operating order.
ORP shall remain between 650 and 880 when pool is in operating order.
Pool water temp is at 103.4 today, which is much higher then recommended. In the future, if temp exceeds 104.0 pool shall be closed (which it is today)

  Item: "Pool Rules" signage incorrectly posted. Rules sign shall include No diving in shallow end, No horseplay, and No running on deck. Post conspicuously at a minimum of 2 locations within the swimming pool enclosure.
  Comment: Pool area shall have 2 pool rules signs posted.

  Item: A swimming pool shall be surrounded by a deck. The deck shall be at least 6 ft. wide for a Class A swimming pool, and 4 ft. wide for a Class B swimming pool, and shall extend at least 4 ft. beyond the diving stands, lifeguard chairs, swimming pool slides, or any other deck equipment.
  Comment: Chairs shall be moved or removed to comply with 4 feet of clear room to walk around the pool.
   
7) Safety Pool: 15.4(4)f(4) 17
  Item: A first-aid kit shall be equipped with: band-aids, sterile 4x4 bandage compress, self-adhering gauze bandage, disposable gloves, and a chemical cold press.
  Comment: First aid kit shall include all of these.

  Item: Swimming pools where lifeguards are not provided shall have a designated emergency phone and shall be available to users of swimming pools when the swimming pool is open. When the telephone is not within the confines of the swimming pool, the location of the emergency telephone shall be posted in a conspicuous place within the swimming pool enclosure. Instructions for emergency use of the telephone shall be posted near the telephone.
  Comment: An emergency phone shal be available with a sign stating exactly how to call 911 and include the address of the facility.

These items must be corrected as soon as possible in order to comply with the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pool and Spa Rules. A letter regarding the actions which will be taken in order to correct all deficiencies must be submitted within 30 days to this office. If for any reason you take issue with any of the items cited regarding swimming pool rules, a variance can be requested by following the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pools manual, amended July 8th, 2009, page 57, section 641-15.7 (135I). Variance requests regarding spa rules must be made in compliance with the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Spa manual, revised July 8th, 2009, page 32, section 641-15.7 (135I).
