  Item: A written emergency plan shall be provided and reviewed annually
  Comment: No written emergency plan available during inspection. Formalize a plan and review with front desk and maintenance staff annually (must address drowing, serious illness/injury, chemical handling emergency, and weather emergency).

  Item: Manual tests are not being conducted as often as necessary
  Comment: Daily pool testing not being done as frequently (or at least not being recorded on the logs correctly).
   
3) Management/Personnel Pool: 15.4(6)b 23
  Item: "Pool Rules" signage incorrectly posted. Rules sign shall include No diving in shallow end, No horseplay, and No running on deck. Post conspicuously at a minimum of 2 locations within the swimming pool enclosure.
  Comment: Only one pool rules sign present in the pool enclosure at time of inspection. 2 are required.
   
4) Safety Pool: 15.4(4)f(4) 17
  Item: A first-aid kit shall be equipped with: band-aids, sterile 4x4 bandage compress, self-adhering gauze bandage, disposable gloves, and a chemical cold press.
  Comment: First aid kit missing 4"x4" bandage compress, chemical cold compress. and self-adhering gauze bandages.
   
5) Safety Pool: 15.4(4)f(6) 17 and 18
  Item: At swimming pools where lifeguards are employed, a telephone shall be available to the swimming pool staff for emergency purposes.
  Comment: Emergency phone not functioning during inspection visit.

  Item: Copies of MSDS sheets shall be available for employee review. Each member of staff shall review MSDS annually.
  Comment: No annual review of MDS sheets being done currently. Implement this practice. All employees involved with pool testing or maintenance must sign off on this annual review of the sheets.

These items must be corrected as soon as possible in order to comply with the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pool and Spa Rules. A letter regarding the actions which will be taken in order to correct all deficiencies must be submitted within 30 days to this office. If for any reason you take issue with any of the items cited regarding swimming pool rules, a variance can be requested by following the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pools manual, amended July 8th, 2009, page 57, section 641-15.7 (135I). Variance requests regarding spa rules must be made in compliance with the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Spa manual, revised July 8th, 2009, page 32, section 641-15.7 (135I).
