Notes: Pool closure required due to non-complaince with VGB-compliant main drain covers. Contact Dustin at Linn County Public Health once facility has obtained proof that VGB-compliant drain covers were installed within the last 5 years or new covers are installed and the proper paperwork is on-site. All other items must be corrected within 30 days of this inspection. Pool shall not re-open until the above item is addressed. *GM contacted with verification that VGB drian covers replaced in 2017. These drain covers must be replaced within 5 years of installation and the certification records kept on site with the date of installation. Either produce proof that drain covers have been replaced since 1/1/13 or get replaced prior to re-opening pool.

  Comment: No results of microbial analyses available during inspection. Also called the laboratory at Linn County Public Health who indicated that no samples have been received from this facility since 2017. This must be done monthly.

  Comment: Both skimmers missing weir at time of inspection. Replace.

  Item: A swimming pool facility shall have a first-aid kit. Where lifeguards are not provided, the first-aid kit shall be prominently mounted in the swimming pool enclosure, or a sign stating its location shall be posted near the swimming pool.
  Comment: Only first aid kit present is located in chemical/control room. First aid kit must be available in the pool area and accessible to pool users or located at the front desk and have a sign clearly indicating where the kit is located.

  Item: At swimming pools where lifeguards are employed, a telephone shall be available to the swimming pool staff for emergency purposes.
  Comment: An emergency telephone shall be provided in the pool enclosure or a sign must be placed in the pool enclosure indicating where the emergency phone is located (likely the front desk in this case).

These items must be corrected as soon as possible in order to comply with the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pool and Spa Rules. A letter regarding the actions which will be taken in order to correct all deficiencies must be submitted within 30 days to this office. If for any reason you take issue with any of the items cited regarding swimming pool rules, a variance can be requested by following the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Swimming Pools manual, amended July 8th, 2009, page 57, section 641-15.7 (135I). Variance requests regarding spa rules must be made in compliance with the instructions in the Iowa Department of Public Health Spa manual, revised July 8th, 2009, page 32, section 641-15.7 (135I).
